The SSM 2040 VCF filter is an OTA 4-Pole (24db/octave) low pass filter chip, that has been used in a variety of vintage and modern synthesizers.   It was originally developed by Dave Rossum's Solid State Micro (SSM) in the late 1970s.  Below are some of the well known synths that have used the SSM 2040 or modern recreations of the circuit from SSI and CoolAudio.   The 2040 filter is probably best know for its usage in Sequential Prophet synthesizers and variants in modern Sequential synths.  It is one of the most desired analog filters for great poly synth sounds.
